who is the best Aussie Boxer.
« on: October 02, 2012, 09:13:33 AM »

who do you reckon is the best, was it Kostya, Jeff Fenech, Tony Mundine, Dave Sands? my best would be Jeff Fenech, because he was so tough, determined and possibly the best prepared fighter ever, i believe he was treated harshly by the various boxing organisations over the years and was arguably the best boxer/fighter pound for pound the world has ever seen. he fought always with damaged hands, imagine how good he would have been with good hands? think about that.

Probably haven't seen enough fights from the mentioned boxers but I did like the way Kostya fought. Had something I always thought was special. Green at his skillful peak was great but didn't last long enough. I think to much boxing out of his ideal weight class didn't suit him.

yeah how tough was Jeff Harding, he seemed to miss a bit of the publicity cos he was fighting around the same time as Fenech. if i remember right he won that fight in the 13th round. was though of as a god in france but hardly recognised here in Oz. a true champion. dunno if its true but i heard he is doing it pretty tough nowadays, be sad if its true.
